It Takes A Village
(West Buechel Kicks Off the Sustainable Communities Initiative!)
West Buechel, Kentucky—7/2/2010—West Buechel kicks off a new city wide initiative which focuses on the following; cultivating projects that foster respect and care for city residents, sponsoring community outreach, and promoting the economic development of a progressive city.
The Need For A Sustainable Community. The city, which is housed inside the margins of Jefferson County, shares the province’s escalating unemployment figures. In addition, the impact of a sour economy has left West Buechel with the closing of two major developments: Showcase Cinemas, and the stores of Bashford Manor Mall. The economy has left fewer resources for West Buechel’s growing senior population and area youth don’t have access to substantive programming provided by the city’s community center. In addition, the city would like to expand its outreach efforts, in regards to health and human services.
Looking for Sponsors. The City of West Buechel is seeking community sponsors who would like to help make a difference in a community that is focused on progressive change. Area businesses and organizations can benefit from city partnerships via the following; participate as community vendors at city wide functions and events and receive “mention” on citywide advertisements and marketing materials.
